Welcome to the Gotham Gourmet!

I started this site as a vehicle to share my passion for dining out in New York City. While I cannot provide anywhere near the scope of coverage offered by Zagat, I hope that you will find my insights useful and appreciate some of the smaller off-the-beaten-path restaurants that I have discovered.

Every week, I will be trying at least one new restaurant and publishing my impressions in the “Latest Finds” section.  I have also compiled a “Top Restaurants” list where I rank the some of my favorite New York eateries by cuisine.  In addition to providing the websites for these top restaurants, I have begun the process of including my own reviews.  If you feel that I missed the mark either in my weekly blog or my review of a top listed restaurant, please use the comment button to share your thoughts with the rest of the Gotham Gourmet community.

As the project develops, I will be adding community forums, information on hot deals, tools for tourists and much more.  The newest addition is my "Quick Impressions" page, where I give a quick thumbs up or thumbs down to the sit-down, takeout and fast foods restaurants that do not require lengthy narratives.
